Mrs. Barrett

My name is Patty Barrett. I am a teacher, wife, mother and grandmother. I graduated from Virginia Intermont College in 1999 with a Bachelor of Arts degree with a major in Interdisciplinary Studies with licensure in grades K - 6. I have nineteen years of classroom experience. I previously taught for fifteen years at Greendale Elementary in Washington County, Virginia. I taught fourth grade and was recognized as the Elementary School Nominee for Teacher of the Year in the 2004-2005 school year. I then spent five years caring for my grandchildren. I returned to teaching four years ago. I have taught third and fourth grade at the Learning Center for the last four years.

I live in Abingdon, Virginia with my husband of 37 years Harold. We have three grown children. Harold Jr., Daniel, and Maggie. We have six beautiful grandchildren. I enjoy gardening, reading, and listening to music. Christian Ministry has always been an important part of my life. I have served as a Sunday School teacher and have been the coordinator for both Junior Church and our church VBS for the last thirty years. I am active in the Ladies Circle and choir at our church Friendship Baptist Church in Bristol, Virginia.

My favorite Bible verse is Philippians 4:13 (KJV), "I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me."
